MPlayer is an open source media player. The program is available for all major operating systems, including Linux and other Unix-like systems, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. MPlayer supports a wide variety of media formats and can also save all streamed content to a file. MEncoder is a companion program which can take an input stream or file and transcode it into several different output formats, optionally applying various transforms along the way. Both of them are command line applications.
If you are familiar with command lines of mplayer & mencoder, you can make better use of Any DVD Converter.
Click Options button in the left bottom of the program or click menu "Edit --> Options", in General tab, you can find additional mplayer options and additional mencoder options. Additional mplayer options is used for previewing video and additional mencoder options is used for converting video while the command is not included in Any DVD Converter's graphical user interface (GUI).
Take Any DVD Converter Professional V3.76 for example. There is no rotation and flip option in GUI in this version. Type "-vf rotate=1" (Note: don't type quotation mark) in the blank of additional mplayer options, then preview a video in preview window. What do you see? Yes, the video has been rotated 90 degrees in a clockwise direction. That is the result of "-vf rotate=1" command line. In the same way, you can type "-vf rotate=1" in the blank of additional mencoder options, and the output video will be rotated 90 degrees in a clockwise direction.
Of course, we will add more and more useful options in GUI. If you can't find an option you need and you know the command, you can use additional options to meet your request.
There are many mplayer and mencoder binary files available on the internet, they are developed by some open source lovers. Sometimes, these mplayer.exe and mencoder.exe may include some features which haven't been included in Any DVD Converter.
Still take Any DVD Converter Professional V3.76 for example. There is an already known bug. When converting 3GP files to other video formats or convert other video formats to 3GP, there won't be any audio in the output videos. Here you can use alternative mplayer and mencoder to solve this problem.
Open CCCP alternative mplayer build page, click Download Here and you will get a compression file with .7z extension. You can use freeware 7-Zip to extract files. After extraction, you can find mplayer.exe and mencoder.exe file in the mplayer.r26311.2008.04.02 folder. Click [...] button after the blank of Alternative Mplayer binary and Alternative Mencoder binary, and specify them to mplayer.exe and mencoder.exe in the mplayer.r26311.2008.04.02 folder respectively. Then convert 3GP files or convert to 3GP files, and you will get what you want.
Note: The solution is only for 3GP. If your input or output video format is not 3GP, the original one in Any DVD Converter should be used. You can simply delete the whole path of alternative mplayer binary and alternative mencoder binary to get back to original settings.
This instruction only gives you hint about how to use the features mentioned above. To learn more commands of mplayer and mencoder, please have a search on internet.
